Come Visit the Lakehurst Historical Society Museum
Museums don’t entomb the past they keep the past alive!
We will be presenting the Hindenburg Experience talk on the 3rd and 4th Sundays of each month at 12:30 to 3:00 PM at the Lakehurst Historical Society Museum, 300 Center Street in Lakehurst, New Jersey 08733. Just walk in, no advance notice necessary. Our museum will be presenting an informational talk experience about the crash on May 6, 1937, of the Hindenburg Air Ship with artifacts, books and pictures available for viewing. Our museum is open every Wednesday and Sunday from 12:30 to 3 PM. Come visit us! The talk is free, but donations are gratefully accepted. (We are also available to present this same Hindenburg Experience talk to your Woman’s Club, Men’s Club, Residence Clubs, Veterans Club, Historical Societies, Girl and Boy Scouts Clubs and Local Schools in Ocean County and other meetings as well upon request.) We will come to you. The talk is approximately 30 to 45 minutes long. For more information, call 732-575-6904 or e-mail [email protected] Come and experience the last flight of the Hindenburg from Frankfurt Germany to Lakehurst, NJ in 1937! Also, if you live in New Jersey in Ocean County then you might want to know about this as well.
Lakehurst Historical Society Museum Volunteers!
Retired and bored being home all the time? Are you interested in volunteering with a great group of people at the Lakehurst Historical Society Museum at 300 Center Street in Lakehurst, N.J.? We need people with an interest in history, someone able to talk with people and to run our very small gift shop inside the historic museum. Do you just enjoy history? You will love volunteering here!
Lakehurst Historical Society is looking for someone with the gift of gab to volunteer along with other experienced volunteers to run our museum on a day or days of your choosing. The museum is open every Wednesday and Sunday of the month from 12:30 to 3PM. Our Society meets once a month on the 3rd Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. at the Lakehurst Community Center, across the street from the Museum. If you are interested in touring the museum and gift shop on a Wednesday or Sunday to see what is involved, please come to our museum or call LHSM at 732-575-6904 or e-mail at [email protected]
